Board Meeting Minutes

~Spring Ice Show Meeting~

December 19, 2009

Members Present: Mark Estenson, Sarah Yager, Kathy Klemetsrud, Sandy Hunter, Alisha Ehnert, Kris Thompson, Wendy Palmer, Susan Estenson

Guests: Jim Darlow, Joyce Nelson, Luanne Krein

Mark called the meeting to order at 2:10 pm

Coaches Report: Jim Darlow gave coaches report. We currently have approximately 12 skaters ready to test pre-preliminary MIF; 2-3 skaters - Preliminary MIF; 2 skaters - Intermediate MIF; 4 skaters – dance. Jim discussed the possible need for Gold level judges.

Treasurer’s Report: N/A.

New Business:

• Discussion was held regarding 2010 testing and whether due to low numbers it would be in the financial interest of the club to hold a testing session.
• Luanne Krein will check on dates for testing. She will also check with other clubs in the state to see if we will have any testers from other clubs.
• Discussion was held regarding how to break up groups for the ice show. Solos were discussed as well as small number of older skaters currently in the club. Motion made by Sandy to allow Juvenile MIF skaters and higher a solo in the ice show in addition to Senior skaters; seconded by Kathy. Motion carried.
• Discussion held regarding older skaters in Freestyle 6 that are ready to move out of Basic Skills lessons. Jim told the board that there are about 4 skaters that will soon be moving out of Basic Skills. The board agreed that those skaters will be allowed a number in the show separate from the high freestyle group.

Spring Ice Show:

- Discussion held regarding Ice Show theme ideas.

- The Board agreed that this years theme will be “Once Upon a Time”. Motion made by Mark for “Once Upon a Time” theme; seconded by Kris. Motion carried.

- Wendy will check with photographers for ice show photos and set up dates with the photographer.

- Sarah will get a quote for the ice show book to submit to the board.
