Board Meeting Minutes
August 3, 2010
Members Present: Sarah Yager, Kathy Klemetsrud, Mark Estenson, Susan Estenson, Wendy Palmer, Sara Thompson, Alisha Ehnert, Kris Thompson
Guests: Joyce Nelson, Mallory Olson, Robyn Jerome
Kathy called the meeting to order.
Secretary’s Report: July 13, 2010 minutes reviewed by the board. Mark made a motion to approve the July 13, 2010 meeting minutes; seconded by Sara T.. Motion carried.
Coaches Report: All coaches were present. The board discussed the upcoming year with coaches. Ice show themes were discussed.
Treasurer’s Report: Alisha gave the treasurer's report.
Old Business:
Registration discounts were discussed. The following discounts will be offered:
We will offer a 20% discount for family membership fee to new families who have never been members of LRSC. The discount will only be applied to memberships/all fees that are paid in full at the time of registration.
We will offer a 10% discount for family membership fee to current or past members who pay all fees in full at time of registration.
Kathy made a motion to approve 2010-2011 season discounts; seconded by Sara T. Motion carried.
March 2011 Spring Ice Show dates were discussed. The Spring Ice Show will be March 18th at 7pm, 19th at 7 pm & 20th at 2pm, 2011. Mark made a motion to approve March 2011 Spring Ice Show dates; seconded by Kris. Motion carried.
Mark will check with Erin Lacina and Just For Kix for JFK show dates to avoid date conflicts.
Testing dates were discussed. We will plan on testing the weekend after the ice show. Susan will check with LuAnne to start planning.
2010-2011 LRSC handbook was reviewed. Mark made a motion to approve the 2010-2011 LRSC handbook; seconded by Sara T. Motion carried.
Upcoming fundraisers were discussed. Mark needs waitresses for our upcoming steak fry.
New Business:
Discussion held regarding shoes and chairs on ice. The Board and coaches will no longer allow any chairs or shoes on the ice. Coaches will recruit older skaters to assist with Basic Skills and younger skaters.
Discussion held regarding dress code for competitive skaters. The Code of Conduct and LRSC Handbook will outline a dress code.
Dates were discussed for Pilates/Yoga classes. Sarah Y. will check with Mary Lunde to see when she will be available for classes.
Ice Show programs were discussed. Sarah Y. will contact Sheri Boehmer at the Lake Region Vo-Tech about designing programs.
A request was made for permission for an associate membership. The board will not allow an associate membership at this time due to current outside coaching rules.
A request was made for a discounted private ice membership. The board will not offer any discounted private ice at this time.
Discussion held regarding Ice Show themes.
