Board Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2010
Members Present: Sarah Yager, Kathy Klemetsrud, Mark Estenson, Susan Estenson, Wendy Palmer, Sara Thompson, Kris Thompson, Jason Kraft
Guests: Joyce Nelson, Mallory Olson, Robyn Jerome, Sandy Hunter
Kathy called the meeting to order.
Secretary’s Report: N/A – Sarah Y. was unsure if she would make it to the meeting this week. Approval of minutes tabled until next meeting.
Coaches Report: All coaches were present.
Coaches discussed the upcoming weeks and start of Family Skating.
Mallory let the board know that Chase will possibly be coming in November, December & January. He will be moving to New York in January.
The Competitor's meeting has been moved to Thursday, October 7th at 6:00 pm. This will be a time for questions and information. We need to encourage ALL competitor's to attend.
Coaches will lock/unlock the Locker Room before and after each skating session.
Coaches will review rules with the skaters.
Treasurer’s Report: Wendy gave the treasurer's report. She is working on a budget for the club.
Old Business:
Sandy Hunter presented a request for pro-rated ice time for her daughter. Although her daughter wants to be on the ice as much as possible she will be unable because she is attending school in Bismarck. Her family would like to still be a part of LRSC. The board agreed that this is a special circumstance and a pro-rated membership will be offered. The following was offered to the Hunter family:
- Fee of $100 for LRSC membership and fee of $150 for private ice time (total $250 club fees). The Hunter family would also be responsible for the $40 USFSA fee paid through the club. Motion made by Jason Kraft to offer reduced fees; seconded by Sara T. Motion carried with all members voting yes.
Susan is working on vouchers for our Bring a Buddy night which will be held on October 17th.
LRSC will have a Halloween party on October 31st during Family Skate. Because Family Skate will conflict with many of the school parties we will have a party but no Basic Skills lessons on the 31st.
The General Meeting will be held on October 17th at 2:30 pm at the Burdick Arena. An email will be sent to all families with more information.
The Chrsitmas show planning meeting will be held on October 20th. Parents are encouraged to attend.
The Ice Show planning meeting will be held on October 24th. Parents are encouraged to attend.
The new music system has been purchased and installed. Skaters will NOT be allowed to run the music system.
New Business:
Mark presented a bid for a computer for the club. The bid discussion will be tabled for the next meeting.
